How to add your Pet to ChatGPT
Your Pet is ready. Let's bring it to life.
For ChatGPT on Mac

Download your Pet
Once you've claimed your unique Pet, download its package. It's one small .zip file.

Open your download
Find the ZIP in your Downloads folder and double-click it. You'll get a folder like this:

Add your Pet to ChatGPT
In Finder choose Go → Go to Folder… (or press ⌘ ⇧ G), paste the path below and press Return. Drag the whole unique-dot-… folder in.

Refresh your Pets
ChatGPT manages its own Pet library. Refresh your Pets list if you see that option, or completely quit ChatGPT with ⌘ Q and open it again.

Choose your new companion
Open your Dot → Customize your dot → in the Pets row pick yours → Save.
Your one-of-one companion is ready!
Having trouble?
My Pet doesn't appear in ChatGPT. Check the folder sits directly inside ~/.codex/pets/ (not inside another folder). Then fully quit ChatGPT with ⌘ Q and reopen it.
I can't find the folder. It's hidden, so you won't see it by browsing. Use Go → Go to Folder… in Finder and paste ~/.codex/pets/.
I copied the ZIP instead of the folder. Delete the .zip from the Pets folder, double-click it in Downloads, and move the folder it creates.
I'm using ChatGPT on my phone. Adding a Pet needs ChatGPT on a Mac. Your claimed Pet is saved to your account, so finish on your computer.
